How to Succeed in Business Writing ... By Really Trying!

Award-winning author Marie Delgado Travis will share over twenty years of business experience in an intense, but fun, online Business Writing course.

Lesson 1: Course overview and discussion of the objectives of Business Writing and how it differs from other forms of writing.

Lessons 2-5- Practical advice on the preparation / editing of specific business documents (resumes, e-mails, office memos, research papers, business reviews, sales presentations, etc.), and related considerations, such as audio-visual aids and oral communication.

Weekly assignments will be given and individual feedback provided, based on individual participants' need.

MARIE DELGADO TRAVIS is very proud of her Nuyorican roots.  For over twenty years, she worked in Marketing  / Advertising on behalf of top international companies.  She has earned Masters Degrees in Literature and Law. 

While "new" to the literary scene,  Marie  won has won awards in a number of categories during 2005:

Marie's poetry has been published in Spain by Centro de Estudios Poeticos, Madrid.  Two self-published chapbooks of bilingual poetry, ANOCHECER / NIGHTFALL and OFRENDA / OFFERING  are available worldwide through Amazon.com.  A third chapbook is currently in production.  She recently won Second Place for her poem, "The Window," in the international Tom Howard Poetry Contest (of 1,600 entries received). 

Marie's pieces (a poem and a short story) appear in the recently released mass market anthology, Chicken Soup for the Latino Soul.  She writes columns and is a contributor on a variety of subjects, from writing to travel, on the internet.  She is a frequent guest on Houston, TX television and radio.  Her readings at book fairs and other literary venues have been warmly received.  Unlike many of the characters of her imagination, Marie is happily married to Edmunds, a retired attorney.  They divide their time between homes in Houston, TX and Isla Verde, PR.
